How does it work?

Step One

Get in touch to describe your requirements and we'll give you a firm indication of the costs.

Step Two

Send your video cassettes to us, using Royal Mail or your preferred carrier service.

Step Three

We'll convert and transfer your videos to a modern digital format on DVD, USB stick or an external hard drive.

Step Four

We'll return the completed work, together with your originals via Royal Mail registered post.

We make digital copies of your favourite videos

Do you have old video camcorder tapes, Betamax or VHS tapes sat around at home and but are unable to watch them because the video player is broken?

Then bring them to Winpenny Photography in Otley, near Leeds and Harrogate, so that we can transfer them to DVD.

We are experts at transferring various formats of video films, which can be edited and written to DVD or supplied on a memory stick or external hard drive.

As well as VHS and Betamax video tapes, we also can deal with MiniDV, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8 formats together with digital memory cards and mobile phone footage.

Negatives, slides and photographs can be included in the edit.

And not just video tapes, as we can also work with old cine film standards including 8mm, Super 8mm, 9.5mm or 16mm. We can convert all types and transfer them to a modern storage medium so they don't get lost or forgotten.

As well as conversion and transfer, we can also provide an editing service. This might include removing commercials or cutting out filming errors, thereby improving the viewed footage.

We can also add titles and credits at the start and the end to give a polished finish to your old videos.

So how does it work?

After making an enquiry, we will provide you with an estimate of costs. With video cassettes this is based of the duration of the recording and with cine film, it goes on the number of reels and their footage.

You can bring your film or tapes to our studio in Otley, West Yorkshire or they can be sent to us via Royal Mail or a carrier of your choice.

What about safeguarding?

For peace of mind we highly recommend a tracked and ‘signed for’ delivery.

Don’t worry, our experts undertake all work on our own premises and your original copies will never be sent away to any third party service providers.

Having taken details of your requirements, should a query arise we will contact you to discuss it further.

When we have finished, you can collect everything from us or following receipt of cleared payments, we can arrange for the goods to be returned to by secure means at your cost.
